I’m loading for my 243 for the first time using 58gr Vmax and H4350. Would anyone like to share a starting point? It’ll be out of a savage axis II.

I haven't tried the 58gn yet but happy to hear others outcomes. I went backwards with putting my bullet closer to the lands due to not having all the modified cases in yet. But I've loaded up some test rounds to see if and what the difference will be.

I've got a couple loads that are pretty accurate in that but they use two other powders and one is almost 3700fps I think and the other around 3800fps. I think it was H414 and 4320 powders.

I did some upgrades to my Remy 700 .243. 2 pound timney trigger, and a aluminum jard inc. Tactical Mag well. I am so pleased with the look and the trigger feel. The factory trigger was adjustable and set around 3 pounds. But this timney is so smooth. Can't wait to test it out this weekend.

Of my Timney triggers the one in the Rem 700 is the smoothest and best feeling. I have one in an AR and it is good, but not great like the 700.

I've got timney and saber triggers. Try a saber triggers. They are as good but cheaper. They only make them for ar platform. But your right that timney is crisp. The x factor trigger it came with was nice but happy with the new one.

Thought I’d share a load I just tried.
    58 GR Vmax
    H380
    Medium charge
This is a 4 shot group out of a savage axis at 100 yards. Gun pic because we can.

Nice rifles, and congrats on the doe!

    Here's a good reference for 243 loaders/shooters:
