    Those bullets have killed a lot of animals, but if elk is on the menu, I think a stouter bullet would be in order.

    I gotta agree with that. I know alot of guys shoot a 150gr bullet in a 308 but I was told when I got my first 30.06 that it and a 308 were designed around the 165 and 168 gr bullet. So that's what I went with and have never deviated from that.

    I use 165 note accubonds. Got 3 boxes when local shop went out of business. They drop deer quickly. Very consistent as well.

    Amen to the Sierra 150 pro hunters. I am switching to Barnes TSX bullets because they are nontoxic, and perform well. Because of their longer length, you should order them in one or two weight increments less than what your rifle likes in lead bullets. The 130 ish grain tsx bullets have been phenomenal. Just shot my buck at 30 ft, and bullet didn’t come apart. Better ballistics and better performance. What is not to like?
