On another forum that I am on,a Ruger #1V was offered and quickly sold. These and the Savage are some of the most accurate offered.
I hunted woodchucks for years with a buddy that carried a bolt gun chambered in 25-06. He shot a Hornady 90gr. The 25-06 is a great, sadly overlooked, chambering. Tons of powder and bullet combo's available.

I’ve had good luck in the past with H4831 with 117-120 grain projectiles.

My current go to is 4350 and 115 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips. I have been shooting my Savage 25-06 for 18 years and killed well over 100 deer and an untold number of pigs with this gun and bullet. I just started reloading a couple years ago but shot the same bullet in factory loading before. In my opinion, you won’t find a better whitetail caliber. My wife shoots a Tikka with the same bullet and we rarely have to track deer.

Following this post. I also am looking for a good load. In factory ammo mine likes 120gr core lokts best. Didn't shoot the 100gr factory loads well.

I agree with this post as I have been a 25/06 activist for many years. From coyotes to mule deer this load will get them and most times drt. I have shot Millie’s out to 400 yards and had no problem with the load doing its job!
