Beauty of having a forum, everyone can input their experience and thoughts
So much better than FB and the bashing people there.
I have loaded it all in them, and was just giving the data I have

But Skeeter Skelton did. The world famous Skeeter’s Load was 7.5 gr Unique under a 240-250 gr SWC for (depending on a lot of variables) around 950fps. That’s potent enough to take anything a North American might face short of the brown bears.

Seems to be the general consensus to use 240gr. I have some herco and unique in cardboard containers one of which is unopened. How old is that lol?
I also have 231, tightgroup and have trailboss on the way. Id like to give a shout out Wes Sage for probably losing money especially counting his time to get me some brass. I'd also like to thank Brandon Salyer (forum member) for helping me get started.

Glad you are excited about it buddy
New guns and new calibers are always fun!!
Now to work up a load for it. We do have Xtreme 240gr in the 500 packs, and I think we saw a little more 44spl brass too

Awesome. I may get some more brass. If you find any 44 russian I may take it too. Buying heating oil has stretched my paycheck for now though.

Elmer Keith had a pretty high regard for what the .44 Special could do also. I don't think anything that I shoot with my Special will be able to tell me that they were NOT shot with a .44 Mag. I have the GP100 SS w a 3" barrel. I shoot 200gr Rimrock cast bullets over 5.5 gr of HP38. It was the first load I tried and it is really accurate with little to no recoil so I have not messed with any other load. Everyone that shoots it falls in love with it. They appreciate the accuracy and the lack of recoil. I can shoot 200 rounds through the Special and my hand feels great the next day. If I shoot 75 through my .357 my hand is sore the next day. The Special does have a rubber Hogue grip while the .357 mag Match Champion has a wood grip.

I put the Ruger factory compact grip on the one I had, our parting had nothing to do with the gun and everything to do with bad timing. Lol.
The compact grip was originally on the 3 inch, fixed sight, 357 mag so I took a shot at it. Worked great. Between that and a Simply Rugged pancake holster I carried that gun everywhere and either no one noticed or no one commented.
