I often travel for work, sometimes on the road three or four nights a week. I am wondering what others do when they are in a hotel room (specific to guns or reloading).
Usually I will clean guns, or chamber check rounds. Last week I was inspecting a bucket of 223 brass and cleaning media out of the primer hole. How do you make use of the time when you are on the road?
Sorting is a good one.
Depriming with a hand deprimer is another good one to kill some time.
Priming is a good one, if you are a hand priming guy too!!
I spend 2-3 weeks on the road at a time too. I’ve been trying to come up with something too.
Depriming and priming is all I could come up with short of creating a reloading outfit to travel with.

Using a Lee hand press(or a Lyman 310) you can carry every thing to reload for on caliber in a small tool bag.
Other than killing time and tumbling an empty primer pocket what are the benefits of depriming rifle brass before going into the resizing die?

How difficult would the hand press be for resizing/depriming smaller cases such as 223 or 6.5 Creedmoor ?
Obviously getting the lube right would be imperative.

We have a member who is bed ridden most of the time, and made extension handles on a hand press and was sizing machine gun fired 7.62x51 brass!!

I tumble with spent primers in. If I chose to I could clean primer pockets (I rarely do) , trim if needed and prime.
Being a few steps ahead when ready to load at my bench wouldn’t hurt anything.

Use any company downtime, or hotel time to get more reloading processes done
Use a piece of 2X6 with holes drilled to mount a single stage press. Pop that bad boy between the two beds mattresses and go to town. One of those tripod mounts that’s sold would work as well. Both of those require a big bag and get you some odd looks, but it beats the heck out of watching soap opera reruns.
