    Shooting Bags/rests

I’m in the market for a good set of shooting bags or at least a nice solid rear bag. I’d like to use it with both my AR15 and Savage bolt action. I have a bipod on my AR but not for my savage..yet.

What do you guys shoot off of and what are some good bipods?

I've seen a couple reviews on Magpuls bipod. It hasn't been out long but it looks pretty well made and thought out.

Caldwell bags are great .... front and back for $20. Filled with pretty much anything from around the house.

For scope alignment it’s a lead sled.

Those are the bags I have currently and I’m not satisfied to be honest. I may have to try dumping what’s inside and refilling them.

What seems to be the issue you’re having.

Ears on the rear bag aren’t as tall as I’d prefer and not as stiff. It’s just a small bag and I can’t seat the butt down far enough. I’ve resorted to using the front bag in back on occasion

Yes... I packed the crap out of those ears with leftover gerbil bedding after my daughters little one croaked. Very stiff. I’ve also swapped bags around or would stack them while also using my range bag

I too use the Caldwell shooting bags. I really like them. I was lazy and ordered them already filled. The rear bags ears are very stiff and hold the stock very well.

Load as much as possible and shoot as much as possible.
    Currently reloading for .380 ACP, 9MM,327 Federal Mag, 38 Special, .357 Mag, 40 S&W, 44 Mag, 45 ACP, .458 Socom, .223 Remington, 22-250,7MM Remington Mag, 30-06 and 340 Weatherby Mag, 50 Beowolf

Same here. I found mine at a gun show just as they were packing up. I got them for $15. The already filled ones are stiff.
