I had a friend of mine give me a pound of w231 to try out. I have never used this type of powder, and am just wondering what opinions are concerning g this powder.
Thanks for any input.

Seems to be a good light/target load powder.
I acquired a couple sealed 8# containers I'm about to start experimenting with.
I think 1st up will be in place of Bullseye in my .38spl loads.
On an unrelated note, where do you dive? I just did a Public Safety Diver class a couple weeks back.
Great powder!! Works in most pistol calibers and there is a ton of data out there for it![]()
See if this works. I've got a file in here of data that I've compiled from Reloaders Reference. I'm pretty sure Will doesn't mind it being shared that way.

Northern illinois....and thanks for all the quick and relevant data. It is much appreciated
W231 is my go to powder for almost all of my handgun loading. It is readily available at stores in both of the states I live/work in. I load it in 45 ACP, 9mm, 38 Special, and .380. FYI it and HP-38 are the same powder with different branding so it has that going for it as well.
Nemo me impune lacessit
I use it in every 45 I own or have owned.

By far my most used powder in the 45 and 9mm for that matter.
