    Resizing 7.62x51 to 338 Federal

    So I have a bit of 7.62. I know you can resize it but would it work. I have a AR10 in 338 fed.
    Thanks.

    It should work just fine. Check the dimensions in a load manual of the 308 and 338. If my memory serves me, I believe the only difference is the neck

    7.62 Nato brass will be heavier and that translates to higher pressures. So, you will need to reduce your starting loads a few grains and work up.
    The good side to this is using less powder to reach comparable velocities.

    I have a buddy that shoots a AR/338Federal. I gave him a bunch of LC72 MATCH brass.
    He resized it all and did not have any problems except for 2 or 3 split necks after resizeing and before reloading. This,in 200 pieces of brass.
    He does use a med - - ->hot load. ---- SAWMAN
