    44mag pistol vs rifle

They just opened up straight walled pistol caliber rifles in Delaware and I am looking to get a 44mag rifle. I haven't had much time to do my homework yet. But I'm curious if any of you have any words of wisdom to impart. Regarding the difference in loading for a rifle vs pistol.... I already load for my 629-4

No loading difference. They load the same.
If they made rifle only data, someone may put the rounds in a pistol by accident, so rifles are made to the same specs pressure wise as pistols

I'm guessing that you get a little more velocity from the longer barrel

    Yes sir.
And Slower burning powders will give it a bit better velocity yet.
I load both pistol and rifle with AA#9 Powder

I have different rifle and pistol loads,m. I load 300gr xtp for rifle and 240gr xtp for pistol. But I can safely shoot either load out of either firearm if I needed to.
