    300 Blackout Subs

Getting ready to load some 150s and 200s for my 10.5 pistol and 16 inch carbine. Going to use A1680 and start around 9.8 for 200, and 10.2 for 150. Open to experienced info. Using CCI small rifle primers, and thinking light LFD crimp for sure.

1680 is a very forgiving powder but it is very dirty and not really quiet for subs. VV N120 is much cleaner and quieter. SW Blackout is virtually the same as 1680 as far as loads, dirty and loud.

My 300 BLK rifle has a 9" pistol gas barrel (BCM) and Silencerco Omega suppressor. All loads use re-formed Lake City brass and S&B small rifle primers. I'm getting the same results with CCI 400 primers as well.

With 1680 and 208 gn A-max bullets I am using 11.5 - 12.3 grains of 1680 to get 1000 - 1100 fps. The brass and rifle are both very dirty after a range session with 1680.

With VV N120 and 208 gn A-max bullets, I am using 10.4 - 11.5 grains of powder to get 1000 - 1100 fps. The brass and rifle are both relatively clean after a range session with VV N120.

When you load for the 16" barrel, your powder loads will be a little less due to more velocity from the longer barrel.

Even though I have a lot of 150 gn .308 bullets, I've not tried to load them for subsonic.
