That’s why I always make a dummy round! I don’t want to waste a primer and powder usually.. mostly because I’m cheap lol

Wes kindly shipped me some bullets to test out for the Yeti!..for a small fee of course lol. Haven’t heard anyone use the Speer bullets or the 180gr XTPs but I’m gonna give them a shot. Hopefully I don’t blow my face off [emoji2962]

I’m not sure and I’m not exactly sure where to start with these.. would I be safe using aa1680? Is there a max velocity for pistol bullets themselves?

There is definately a max velocity for pistol bullets. Obviously . . that pertains to huntings terminal velocity only.
Some twist rates for the same chambering is not the same between pistols and rifles also.
The Hornady XTP's will handle any reasonable speed for hunting. As well a few others. Watch out for the Speer brand. I would say call them,but remember,they (and others) are trying to sell their products.
Obviously the solid copper bullets will handle any speed,as most likely the NosPart's will.
Some single shot or bolt guns will shoot the pistol bullets MUCH faster than it was originally intended to be used for.
If I were going to use a 358Yeti for hunting,I would try to use a "mid-weight" bullet anyway. That would bring you into the realm of kill'ability and not just speed or price of bullets. --- SAWMAN

I’ve got no experience with the yeti, and I’ve not tried to shoot pistol bullets out of rifles. But I do remember the hornady manual, years ago, listing reduced loads for the 35 Whelen using 357 pistol bullets.

For the 180gr Speer hotcor bullets the data is around 35gr aa1680 I just don’t know how much to reduce it. And theyre seated pretty far. Just past the shoulder
