Since I have started playing with this cartridge, and info is scarce, I'll add what I have found..remember to start low & work up
data I recieved with this rifle:
42.8gr Superformance, 75gr Hornady @ 2.737.......did not group well for me
41.5gr IMR4451, 75gr Hornady @ 2.737.....very good groups, can't find the powder so....
various searches revealed a case length max of 2.045, min of 2.025 and trim to of 2.035
cartridges of the world had limited data, but suggested 45gr IMR4350 with 65gr Soft point achieved a velocity of 3710fps
So i did a ladder test with 65gr Sierra Gameking & IMR4350, COAL of 2.600, starting at 43.2 to 45 in .3 increments
43.8gr revealed 3 overlapping holes @ 100
44.1 I got slight pressure signs (light extractor, almost flat primer)
44.4 I blew out two primers (one may be a fluke right?)
forgot my magnetospeed, sorry no velocity numbers for you, but I'm guessing in the high 3500fps arena with 43.8
I have found this gun likes a substantial jump to the lands (measured at Ogive) of .071
interesting find:
65gr GK, 73 & 75gr Hornady all have the ogive at damn near the same location from the base
in the near future (and once I find the formula again), I'd like to test 5744 and 73gr Hornady
