    2022 hunting pictures

Let’s see this years trophies. Big or small doesn’t matter. Everything I kill is a trophy to me. Please tell what you were shooting and a little bit about the hunt. Pictures of wound channels, entrance and exit wounds would be great too. So post them up and let’s see them!

My 12 year old finally connected. He’s been hunting with me since he was 3, last year he got to actually carry his rifle and had a few disappointments. He has put in the time and hard work and it paid off. This past weekend was youth weekend.

He’s using 120gr ballistic tips in his 7x57 frankenmauser. He shot the doe Saturday morning and the little buck Saturday afternoon. That night he asked if we could eat the does tenderloins for dinner. So we put a little salt and pepper on them and cooked them over mesquite coals from the campfire.

My 15 year old got ahold of a couple feral hogs this past weekend. He’s shooting a left hand R700 in 30-06. 150gr Hornady interlock over a modest charge of IMR4064.

This guy weighed right about 60 pounds, shot through the shoulder exited the ribs.

This one was about 275lbs. Shot in the ear.

After these 2 great shots on Saturday, Big Nate missed a doe Sunday morning.

Had another successful weekend. Another hog and deer in the freezer.

7x57 with 120gr ballistic tip, just behind the ear, 70yds.

30-06 150gr hornady BTSP, quartering towards, in though the shoulder out through the guts, took out a lung and the liver. 60yd shot.

Ended up killing a nice doe with my 300 Blackout. 190gr Hornady sub-x over 4198. Velocity is somewhere between 1100-1200fps. 20yd shot, took out one lung. She ran about 40yds and piled up.

How did the bullet perform at that speed? Unfortunately if I want to use a 300 Blackout, it will have to be my Ruger American bolt, not allowed to use my AR in this stupid state.
