    Reloading .308 winchester question

I am loading 308 for my 788 Remington Bolt Action rifle. I used 150 grain Speer Boat Tail Bullets over 42 grains of IMR 8208 XBR and I have a question. Should you taper crimp these bullets after reloading or is is OK not to crimp? Thanks to all with more reloading experience than I. This is my first Heavy Rifle loading try, just need information. This is probably going to be 50% yes and 50% it is OK not to crimp. If I need to crimp, what type of crimp cause the bullet doesn't have a cantalure so I am figuring taper crimp. Thanks, 74man

For bolt actions it is not necessary to crimp. If you want to crimp, do a light crimp. You can use the bullet seating die, Lee factory crimp die, or any other manufacturers crimp die, they all work.
