    load development for 308

I need help. I am behind in developing a load for my hunting rifle this year. I was wondering what loads people were using for a 200 gr eld-x using either varget or h4895? I will be shooting it out of a Rem 700 5R rifle. Just don't have the time to go thru a large test groups. Trying to shorten the amount of ladder test shot groups. Any help would be appreciated.

When I get home from work I’ll look through my notes.

Hopefully Holland will chime in, I know he’s done a little work with this bullet as well.

Ive never tried cfe223 with those. I got my best groups around 39.5gr of varget .020” off the lands. I never ran it over a chronograph, so no velocity data.

Thanks for your help. I was just looking at powders that I can still get and would give me a high velocity. CFE was just faster then the other two powders.

    load development for 308

With that bullet Ive hit pressure before I reached max loads. So I gave up on velocity and just went for accuracy. One powder I haven’t tried, but am going to try is XBR8208.
