    Reloader 15 for 308

Has anyone used RL 15 in 308? I see it listed in my book but I've never tried it. Since I can't find any H4895 and I have RL 15 thought I'd give it a shot.

RL15 is great in the .308. One of my favorites. I use it with 150 and 165gr bullets. It’s a really good powder in many other cartridges too.

yes I've been mainly using it in 22-250 and I was curious how it performs in 308. I tried CFE 223 and I'm undecided on it, so I'm kinda working with what I have or what I've seen locally. I'm using 168 grain bullets so might be time for a little testing next week!

    Thanks!

It is definitely worth a try. I think you’ll like it. I haven’t decided if I like cfe223 in anything yet, but I’m still playing around with it.

I think I remember reading somewhere that that’s what they use in the M118LR round with a 175gr bullet.

I've heard IMR 4064 has been used also, I've has outstanding performance in my 308 with both those powders, for me 42 grains seems to be the magic number

I had a good load at 43.8gr, but it doesn’t group right after threading the barrel and adding a brake. It’s a little better with the suppressor, but way off without. I need to get to the range to get a new load worked out.

If I remember, they used IMR4064 for a very long time, and switched to RL15 some time in the last 15 years or so.
