    .204 Ruger

What is everyone's go to powder in .204 Ruger? I shoot a variety of bullet weights in a Howa bolt action.

    .204 Ruger

My rifle likes IMR4198 with 32gr vmax. It doesn’t reach the magical 4000fps mark, but does get me just over 3900fps. Ive smoked a bunch of prairie dogs with that load.

I have never used 4198. Mainly used Varget and 4895 in the past. I just ordered some CFE223 and I have some H335 I might try. I will give 4198 a try when I get a chance too.

CFE looks good. It wasn’t around back when I developed my load. I wonder if TAC would be good also.

I would think TAC would work. I have good luck with it in my .223.

Reloader 10x and IMR 8208 XBR have been the best for me. 8208 wins out for sure, but admittedly I am an accuracy nut.

I have been using 35gr berger and varget. 40gr noslers and 4895 did well also. I have some 8208xbr to try but have yet to. Look around on 204ruger.com.

35 Berger and IMR8208XBR is what I’ve been running. Works well on coyotes!
