With mine I had to remove my phone case to get the cord to fully plug into the phone jack. It may help to have the phone plugged in and app running before you turn the chrono on, but I haven't had any problems once I took my case off.

I just bought one and went to try it last Wednesday. Unit worked good but I was unable to connect with the app as well. I am currently using a Samsung note 9. I have an old iPhone lying around I might see if it works with that. I've been searching around and it seems like this is a very common android issue.

Just don't tell my wife how much any of this really costs.

I figured it out.. go to your settings, then apps, then find the Caldwell app and select it, go down to permissions and allow them. For some reason by default they aren't checked.. works for me now.

I did that and while it did seem to communicate somewhat it still wasn't giving me any readings. I might set it up in the backyard tomorrow with the suppressed 22 and see if I can get anything to work.

I got it all working. Ended up being a poor connection at the unit, I pushed and wiggled and felt it go in a touch more then voila! Tested it out with my little pump BB gun which has a better standard deviation than my reloads
