It’s fun no doubt. I haven’t been able to go as much as I liked to.

I have a pack of 4 to 7 by me. I haven't heard them in several months. When they have been active I have gone out and tried to call. I got some replies but nothing ever showed itself. I used a rabbit wobbling thing but no interest.

Ranchers where I do prairie dogs say the best commercial calls aren't working, but winter trappers are taking 50-60 a year.
I've had great success with Circe calls except in summer.
    Had a good mentor too.

I shot one on my property this year. The coyote saw the motorized flipping tail I had and couldn’t stay away. He must have watched me set it up. I just got to my spot and he was on it before I picked up my rifle. The caller wasn’t a factor at all. I have had them return howls, but could t draw them in. My 40 acres of forest is too thick this time of year. I have to wait for late fall winter to see more than 50 feet.

I am in the San Luis valley in southern co. I used to do predator control on a sheep ranch back in the80's. I have sold hides in the past but prices are not worth skinning them now unless they are exceptional

I do a little of everything. Mostly spot and stalk but do a little calling.

As long as you're "out there" it's all good. The beauty of prairie dogs is all the shooting. But ki-dogs are an enjoyable hunt.

All this talk about prairie dogs has me itching to go west and find some. I bet it’d be a blast. We get into some yotes here in Michigan.
