Barrel arrived Wednesday, 4 1/2 weeks after placing the order

Didn't have it cerkoted, and forgot to have the brake threads cut.....no biggie, it's rather have the smith do it anyway

Really torn between the AT-one (have one on another rifle and really like it) or just a standard featherweight....

Wondering what the velocity difference between this and a 260AI (short action) or a 6.5-06AI would be ?? --- SAWMAN

If I was a guessing man, I would say around 200fps. Hopefully we will soon find out.

The .264" bore and bullets are a great long ranger and a good killer (SD).
While the 6.5Creedmoor does not impress me,I find some of the others "interesting". I would like to build a single shot chambered in 264Win Mag or 6.5-06AI.
Wondering why Roy Weatherby never did do anything in .264" ?? ---- SAWMAN

Back when Roy was developing his line of cartridges, the .264 diameter was not popular in the states. No 264 cartridge sold well until the last 20 years.

You're right . . . the 264Win Mag has been around about as long as the 300 and 7mmRem mags. But after that, the 260Rem and 6.5Creedmoor was next and pretty much all that is heavily supported nowadays. --- SAWMAN
ADDED: And about anything that Weatherby would have done with the .264" would be severely overbore. A good example would be the 270Wby Mag necked down to make a "264Wby Mag".

Finally ordered my stock....Boyd's pro varmit, in coyote with adjustable cheek piece

I've about given up ever getting the recoil lug from Sharp Shooters Supply....ordered & paid for back in the beginning of June, can't even get an email reply

Gun should be to the Smith next month

Those are good looking stocks. What are you going to do about the recoil lug? Just order a different one from someplace else?

Probaly just use the factory one.....using my reloading calipers it doesn't have the worst size fluctuations I've heard of, though it's not a uniform thickness like the aftermarket one I had ordered

I had planned to have the smith fully seat & bed the action anyway

You should be fine doing it like that. Glad you are making forward progress in your project.
