My Rem 700 7mm-08 hates 139 SSTs and 139 SPs. But it does love 120gr Nosler Ballistic Tips over Varget. Lots of white tails and rams have gone down with this combo. The furthest one went after being shot was a 10-pointer rolling 20 yards down hill!

Too bad. Should be 1:10 like the Ruger American. Very explosive with the lighter bullets and launches the heavier bullets well. --- SAWMAN

I am loading the same combo in my wife’s 7-08 this year. Last year I had some low recoil loads for her, same bullet with IMR4350 loaded to about 2650 FPS. She shot her deer quartering to, hit it behind the shoulder taking lungs and liver, bullet exited in front of the off side hide leg. Deer made it 75 yards or so with a good blood trail. The hotter varget load should do even better!

Try 150 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips and H414. I load for 2 7mm08 rifles and both shoot the 150 gr NBT really well. My exact load is 44 gr of H414 seated to 2.80".

I do very close (as laylandad above)to the same things have 5 loaded to accuracy loads meaning my rifle likes .018 jump to lands, very little, the length wont fit in magazine. Have them on stock in cheek rest.
    When 1" makes a difference!
