    .45acp loads

I always enjoyed looking at everyone’s 45acp loads on faceclown, until it got nuked. So I wanted to start it up here on the forum. What is everyone’s favorite .45acp loads and why? Plinking loads? Self defense loads? General purpose loads? Lead, plated, or jacketed?

I use Bullseye or AA#2 with either plated or lead bullet. Meters well from my 550. For defensive ammo, I buy factory gold dots.

Almost all my pistol loads I run AA#2 powder.
For me in 45acp it is 230gr Xtreme Bullets for target, and Speer Gold Dots for SD rounds

My first load is the only one I,ve ever used. Only been loading for 2 years. I shoot the 230 gr X-treme with 4.5 gr of TiteGroup.I shoot a Colt 1911 and a S&W 625 PC. TG leaves alot of residue in the case in the revolver. Everyone say's Unique is perfect for .45's. What makes it so good??

I tried a new load last month with 4.3gn of Trail Boss that I had on the shelf. Seems like the H&G #68 IDP #1 200gn LSWC from Missouri Bullet Co liked it and got about a 3/4" spread at 25' with it.

I see several of you are using Bullseye. What are the loads you're using? Just picked up a pound last week and would like to try it out on 45 ACP.

For plinking I use Titegroup and Xtreme 230 gr RN.

For SD, I'll use a max Power Pistol load and 230 grain Speer Gold Dots.

I run Titegroup on all three loads. The first is a 200 gr Hard Cast SWC I get from a guy here in Colorado. The second is 200 gr Xtreme RN and the third is my SD round. It is a 185 Barnes Tac-XP.
