223 resizing. Full length vs small base

Have been reloading 223 for my ARs for a while using small base dies. Recently picked up a couple of bolt action 223s.

Question for the group. Will using full length dies have any pros/cons over small base dies for the bolt guns?

My understanding is you should full length size semi auto brass and neck size bolt gun brass. I know guys that have necked sized AR stuff and had issues with extraction.

I full length size everything unless I have saved brass fired out of my bolt action and I’m tinkering for accuracy. Then I’ll neck size only. Keep track of the brass for each of the bolt guns separately. Happy loading.

I only separate my brass from my higher end/precision stuff.

Small base full resizing shortens case life vs standard full resizing, correct?

It does work the brass more, and CAN lessen the life span. with 223/5.56 being so cheap these days, most people don't seem to care.
I small base size all my 223/5.56 brass and usually split necks way before weakening the web at the base from small Base sizing

Thanks for the info Wes. Just trying to maximize my brass usage now that load development is mostly done.

For sure. If your gun shoots FL sized brass just fine, stick with it.
No need to SB size normally, unless you have a tight chambered rifle.
We do it brecause our brass has to go in thousands of different guns a week
