    Primers

So I accidentally purchased magnum large pistol primers for my 45 acp brass instead of the the standard large pistol primers. Will it hurt anything to use them in 45 acp?

I wouldn't use them with a hot load.

Just to play it safe, back your charge down and work it back up.

So the hotter primer would affect the pressure and velocity? If so I won't use the primers. I will stick them back and wait until I buy a 500 or 454 Casull. One or the other will be in my collection eventually.

It could affect the pressure and velocity, but not like a double charge or anything. It would depend on how the powder and charge respond to the hotter flashing primer. For example 2400 does not like mag primers, but H 110 almost requires them. Not that you would use either of those powders in 45 Auto. It is possible you would be just fine with mag primers and the faster burning powders used in 45.

I can’t argue with that. My GF wants me to buy a 5.7 because she found brass at the range and thinks it would be fun to shoot.

That is a fun gun but I believe the brass is coated with something that makes it difficult to reload? Fun caliber though! I miss mine!

Well that didn't work after all lol. From what I can see i need to use large magnum rifle primers! Went and shot it today. Pretty snappy with 200 grain bullets. Can't wait to get the 300 grain bullets loaded
