I have a 30SF. I've loaded thousands of Rainier 230 grain HP and RN, with no issues. Are you using known good magazines? The gun should feed pretty much anything.

Flyeralan, how much difference in accuracy is there? For my target/competition loads I prefer RN, due to more reliable feeding.

I use the Sierra 175gr TMK with IMR 4350.

No problems with Winchester primers.

I use 55gr Hornady FMJ in my 10.5 inch pistol. Same load as I use in my rifle. No problem with making round holes at 50 yards.

I use Bullseye or AA#2 with either plated or lead bullet. Meters well from my 550. For defensive ammo, I buy factory gold dots.
