No time at the bench for me lately. The garden has been doing great this year and everything seems to be ready at the same time, lol. My bench is the kitchen counter and stove manning the pressure...
I always measure that in each new lot of bullets and write the number on the inside of the box lid. They often vary some, although not by that much. You approach your setup much the same way I do.
Uniflow and the Hornady should both handle #9. Similar powders work great in mine.
I will definitely defer to JTD and his knowledge here. I looked back at my workings from many years ago for an old Sears rifle for my brother. The three powders that made it to the finals for me were...
Great caliber, great history. Thank you both for sharing something that I know very little about.
Your process seems solid, annealing should help the cases form properly. Let us know the results.
I load all kinds of 300 blk, using Lee dies and have had zero problems.
Here is the finished product, turned out a little too large to fit in my Hornady tubes and had to sand them a little. If I make them again I will just scale them to 98 or 99% and it should work...
Cap done, just started the funnel flared part, 56% done.

Here is a small sampling of some items I've printed. In addition, an air draft block for my Charge Master, my cam wire breakaway brackets for my LnL, powder identifying bands to clip on the powder...
I will! I have printed so many helpful things for the reloading bench, I can't begin to mention them all. I don't sell, that would take the fun out of it for me. I will print things for friends for...
A little off the beaten path, but my bench also includes a 3d printer. I am setting up to print a component separating top for my Hornady powder drops. It is really a kind of sickness, this 3d...
Just as a point to note. Today is a good day to be at the bench in SE PA, lol. A wet sloppy day all around.
This is a great way of doing this! I have used this method often through the years in multiple circumstances. A little time consuming, but I always felt very confident in the results.
That, my friend is a significant discovery. Use them well, lol.
You know, that is a great question. I have very little nickel brass and never raised that question.
I will tumble the moly off, but I would take them. PM sent.
Mine is a 15" TC Custom Shop barrel on a Contender. I have never hunted deerwith the 6, but do occasionally use the 7mm TCU for deer. My six is used to help control these PA ground hogs and is quite...
Those are not yet fire formed, correct? I shoot the 6mm TCU and it is a great cartridge. What gun are you shooting it in?
Oh, my! Nice 1911 there! As far as the Kimber, I looked long and hard at Kimber and they had the look I wanted, but the Ruger won out.
It is a 1in8 twist for heavies. Shoots good with Sierra 107's, but when I found the Berger 105 VLD's, it really came into it's own! Then I came across some Clinch River 106's that if I understand...
The BR is in 6mmBR, bought it used at an lgs a few years ago. They knew the guy that had it , he got a knee busted up pretty good and could no longer shoot in the prone position very well. Came with...
I have an 8 pounder of MP-350 that I have been using in my 300BO, no problems once I figured out where it falls with fps for subsonic loads. Work loads up carefully, but I doubt you will be...
Sounds good JTD! I too have been away too long. A lot of demands on my time right now between work, the yard and a pending construction job here at the house. I will get back to it, I have plans to...
Absolutely some of the pluses from annealing! I am much more prone to anneal than I ever thought I would be.
