Thanks guys. I loaded 45 Colt (T/C) 250gr XTP over 26.0gr H110 and CCI350 primers. As a bonus, the box of bullets had an...
Nothing to be sorry about. When dealing with conflagrating gunpowder in a small, enclosed space, it's always better to safe.

Another way - 1gr is 1/7000 of a pound. 1gm is 1/454 of a pound. 1gm of a powder will equal 15.4gr of the same powder (and take up 15.4x the volume).

Grains. Always grains. Quite frankly, you'd know if your units were off because the case couldn't hold the charge. 50gm of powder takes up way more volume than 50gr.

On 460, you'll want to load to a cannelure. Otherwise, recoil can knock the projectile loose. I run into the same thing with my 454.

Shallower. Going deeper can increase the pressure beyond what is safe.

That's what I figured. Even the T/C loads dont really approach 454 pressures.

I'm wanting to load some 250gr XTP with H110 in 45 Colt T/C. I have a Raging Judge Magnum 45/454/410. It doesn't specifically say for T/C loads, but it's proofed between 87500-93500 PSI. Pretty sure...
Still available
Yes
Should the load be compressed? Seems I had read that you don't really want extra space when using BP.
I've never done BP loading, but I've been reloading for years. I have a bunch of 250gr LRNFP .452 that I'd like to try loading over black powder for 45 colt. Are there any differences between the...

I have 1056 (measured by weight - 6.336kg at 6g per case, based on a 20 case average) once-fired .223/5.56 brass, mixed headstamp. I have initially cleaned and sized/decapped all the brass. I...
Same here. I'm one of 3 guys at my church that do security. Sad that we need it. We had a guy rush one of our deacons trying to steal the offering one Sunday.

I use .280 Rem. 139gr SST. I'm working up an OCW test with Superformance currently. Just loaded 80 rounds. 54.0gr-57.0gr, 0.2gr intervals, 5 rounds per charge. Also working up a load for .454 Casull...
