With the 50gr Zmax, we only run ramshot TAC, and H335 powders, and we run in the higher end the load range.

I ran a full range test with H335. My best 5-shot group was just over the Hornady book max, so they definitely like to go fast. I plan on further testing with hotter loads, since none of the Hornady data showed any pressure signs in my gun. The batteries were unfortunately dead in my chrono, so I missed out on that valuable data. PSA from the safety department: As a general rule, stay within book specs. Some of us have enough miles under our belts where we can cheat a little, but you have to know how to cheat safely.

I think that I may be a minority here. I hate to give away my favorite powder for these 50 grain favorites. But.... I swear by Alliant Power Pro Varmint. They load and shoot well in several guns.

What speeds are you getting with the h335?
Did some test with H335 and 50gr zmax out of 16” 1/7 twist . 0.5 gr over max charge was my best and was getting 3290 FPS. No pressure signs so gonna try to crack 3350 maybe get to 3400

Haven't tried tac but h335 is my favorite for that range of bullet weight. I've not had any issues with temp and it meters great.Quote:
