I prefer the Ballistic tip and had good luck with the partition as well. SC white tail......shoulder shot at 50 yards and went 10 yards and crumpled. 280 AI ballistic tip.

30-06 150-165 grain and H414/280 AI 120-140 grain and IMR4350/25-06 AI 120 grain and H4831
Dont see an edit option so another post,,,,,,when I use my 30-30 it has 150 grain hornady soft points and H4895. The BT's have stable, accurate flight paths and every now and then actually destroy more meat than I prefer (all my weapons just love em with just about any powder combo)and the partitions are just wicked when they mushroom.
I have 2 depending on where I am hunting. 168gr Nosler Ballistic Tips as they are accurate and have a great reach. Then I have my 125gr Nosler BT in 300BLK which I use on hogs. I see no reason I can't take a deer with one as I have taken 250# plus hogs with them.
I'm using 150 grain bronze point in my .308
I have had good luck with Barnes TSX and TTSX. I dropped a 9 point with a 168gr 30 cal TSX into a 30-06 at 50, and my dad a 9 point with 50gr TTSX in 223 from around 85 yards. Both very clean and quick kills.
What part of sc are you from?
I love 150gr SST with H110 for 300blk for whitetail. Going to try the sub x ammo tho this year for subsonic hunting
I like the 180gr rn hornady interlokt or Sierra pro Hunter in the 30-06. I also use the factory Remington core lokt ammo with the 180gr rn.
270 wsm. 140 grain AccuBond. Great ballistics. Great expansion and it holds together awesome! Dialed with the B.O.S.S muzzle break on the Browning. Can't be beat

I really like the Sierra Pro Hunters, I try others from time to time but Pro Hunters are my go to. They always do the job and seems like they are very easy to work up a good load for.
it all depends on what caliber i decide to shoot that day. I have different hunting setups for almost every gun i have. everything from sierra game kings for my 223, makers 200 subs and nosler green tips for my 300bo, hornady sst's for my 270win, hornady interlock for my M1, barnes ttsx for the 6.5 grendel, hornady monoflex or barnes ttsx for the 458 socom for deer and kak xhp bullets for the hogs, gold dots for the 45LC, barnes tsx for the 762x39.
the reasons i chose these projectiles was my a mix of what my rifles liked along with my personal ballistics gel tests.

NBTs mostly but about any decent jacketed soft point that shoots well out of a particular rifle. Handgun either XTPs or cast.
These are my main bullet I use per weapon. I shoot others but these are my preferred. 243win - 100gr partition. 250savage - 100gr hornady sp. 257Roberts - 117 hornady BTSP. 257Roberts AI - 100gr Partition. 257WBY - 115gr Partition. 6.5x55 - 160gr Hornady RN. 6.5x55 140gr Sierra SPBT. 6.5-284 - 140gr Hornady SP. 7x57 - 139gr Hornady SP. 280AI - 154gr Hornady SP. 300Savage - 150gr Hornady SP. 300Savage - 150gr Sierra SP. 308 - 165gr Hornady SST. 30-06 220gr Partition. 300H&H - 180gr Hornady SP. 338Federal - 160gr TTSX. 338-06AI - 185gr TSX. 35Remington - 200gr Hornady RN. 35Whelen - 250gr Hornady RN. 350RemMag - 200gr Hornady SP. 375Whelen AI - 235gr Speer SSP. I’ve hunted and killed with other bullets in each Rifle, but these are my main bullet for each. I’m sure I forgot a few, and there are several I’m still tinkering with.
.308 165 grain Nosler Accubond has worked pretty well for me over the past two seasons. Prior to that I used Nosler Ballistic Tips.

I use 150gr Hornady SST in 300blk 308 and 30-06 they work just the way I like no wasted meat

I like Hornady SST & Nosler BT’s for my .06 & Hornady FTX in my 450 Bushmaster. I’m going to try the Barnes this year in 450.

Accubonds are my go to for deer.
This year I'm gonna tag one with a 9mm carbine, but generally I load up the 62gr Federal fusion soft points with BLC2. For the kid I use 125gr SST in the 300blkout. My woman also hunts with the .223 and is a crack shot so shes using the 62gr as well.

I always have good luck with my .308 w/ 150 gr or 165 NBT or SSTs. Never had one move a step after I pull the trigger.
I just like to keep it simple and cheap. I use Hornady 165gn SP in my model 740 .308 loaded with 43.5 grains of 4064 for either side of 2600 FPS. I get around 2 inch groups at 150 yards, which isn't bad for a 60+ year old gas gun. The longest shot on 2 dear last season was 80 yards and both of them bolted for 3 or 4 steps and went down. Both bullets went all the way through but the insides were destroyed in both deer
For my kiddo's .223, the 65 grain Sierra Game King has performed very well. Have used the 62 grain TTSX recently on a few hogs and had really good results, so hoping to try them out this season on deer. In my 6.5 Creedmoor I use Berger 140 grain Hunting VLD, same load as for my long range shooting. Pushing them at 2,821 fps, they are absolute hammers on deer and hogs. Have shot deer out to 400 yards, and hogs a tad over 700 yards with them. Effective quick kills every time.
I user 150gr hornady for my 7mm08 but I'm gonna switch to gamekings because wes had them in a package and I now have 200 lol

I used a ton of bullets and cartridges. My current favorite is a 195gr TMK loaded in a 308. This particular deer was taken last year with that load. He was 144 yards and it was a direct chest shot. He did a back flip on impact, landing on his back and never recovered. Both lungs, top of the heart, and a portion of his liver were shredded. All the energy transferred into him. No exit. Absolutely phenomenal terminal performance. These 195s have all the sectional density/mass to provide plenty of penetration at close ranges, and are constructed very well to provide adequate expansion down to an impact velocity of 1400fps. For my particular load, that happens to be 1000 yards! The 208gr ELDM would be my second choice and performs very similarly. I just get better accuracy from the Sierras.

Hornady interlock or Sierra game Kings IMO Noslers are overkill for whitetail and I've seen Ballistic tips fail and shatter.

I use .280 Rem. 139gr SST. I'm working up an OCW test with Superformance currently. Just loaded 80 rounds. 54.0gr-57.0gr, 0.2gr intervals, 5 rounds per charge. Also working up a load for .454 Casull using 250gr HP over H110.
168gr nosler custom competition boat tail hollow point in .308 My rifle loves them and shoots the extremely accurate. For my 45 rifle and pistol I use a 325gr lead bullet. Works great if I'm in the woods and it'll knock a deer or anything else on its ass.
Barnes triple shock has been the best round across all platforms.
From .224 to .458
Always expands deer hogs you name it.
Others may work well but this is best for me.
130 sp for 308, 150 silver tip in the 06, 160 Ftx in 30.30, 100 Sierra game kings in the 243.
Hornady interlock or Sierra game Kings..

Nosler Partition here.
I personally like the 180 grn roundnose soft point, @2750 fps. It will hi a deer and knock the hell out of them , when you get a good hit they go down fast and hard. If you don't get that perfect hit ,well it still does a number on a deer that they don't go far!
For close ranges work, like 200 yards and in, a round nose bullet will actually perform exceptionally well terminally on deer. It’s hard to beat actually. Any bullet with a long boat tail or slender ogive profile simply can’t produce the same level of wounding at close range. That being said, there are still bullets constructed like that that can still produce very good results both close range and well beyond 200 yards.
