I just did one myself. Very easy if you follow the instructions and watch a how to video or two on YouTube. I just used a drill press and drill press vice for the end milling and a hand drill for the pins. Some 200 grit sandpaper to finish up. I'm still waiting for my custom slide to be built but I test fit with a friend's OEM slide and it's good to go. I would definitely advise sanding and polishing the slide rails. Made the slide move like it was on ice.

I just ordered OEM parts for both the frame and the slide. I am using a SilencerCo threaded barrel, but all other internal parts are OEM. I'm sure I'll do some upgrades later on but to start I wanted to use OEM stuff as a control factor in testing. I'm getting a custom built slide and putting it on a custom frame so there could be differences in theory. This is also my first Glock so I'm not familiar enough with the platform to assume what recoil spring may be best. If I use the factory stuff I figure I'd have a good starting point for any needed upgrades. I grabbed my OEM parts off eBay. They were cheaper there than almost anywhere I searched.
Looking forward to end of December/early January when the slide arrives. All the other pieces are ready for it.
DV8 Raptor One slide in Burnt Bronze cerecote with rmr cut for Burris Fastfire III
Trijicon suppressor height night sights
Burris Fastfire III w/ 8moa dot

As expensive as this custom all American made Glock 19 is it better be awesome, I got a bit carried away with Black Friday hahaha

Nice!! I didn’t think about going OEM for that reason but I figured that maybe the upgrade kits had better QC. It’s my first glock too and I’ve never had to put a pistol together soo.. it’ll be fun!
I’m looking into the Alpha shooting sports slide and slide kit. Faxon barrel (still deciding on threaded or not)
OC full size lower parts kit.
I ordered the 80% lower this morning and that came out to 59.99 shipped with my gift certificate they gave me for whatever reason
Thanks! I looked up your slide and DAMN that’s sexy!! I may need to get another kit just to try one of those out! Maybe the sub frame or the hybrid. Might eventually dabble in the 1911 kits lol
Yeah I only wanted build a custom Glock because I'm the only guy in my group of buddies that doesn't Glock. Lol. So I figured I'd best go snazzy, all American made and stuck it to their Austrian OEM's. Jokes on me, their Glocks didn't cost $1400[emoji849]

It’s only the American thing to do honestly. I’m still in the middle of two AR builds. My Yeti upper is done but I have yet to order a lower or parts.. I should save up money but for what?! Just gonna end up being guns anyways [emoji23]
Haha! Hear ya! I'm in the middle of a home remodel when bam, the budget is $1400 less. [emoji2369]

Nice! Soon it'll look like this. I'm still waiting on my slide. Week/week and half now. Merry Christmas! Again if you have any questions please feel free to ask and I'll help to the best of my abilities.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4c9c341f9d.jpg

Thanks and Merry Christmas to you! Where did you get that sweet Mag release?
I found em on eBay I do believe. It's semi extended, not as long as most extended but definitely longer than a Glock OEM magazine releasehttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...fca2339f75.jpg

Of course Zev slides go on sale [emoji849] I like how some of them look and for the right price I’d have been one of those guys. Everything comes in Saturday! I’m excited!
I'm curious to see how these hold up once the round count gets up there.
They’re on sale at Midway right now! 50% off
From everything I read they hold up great. Today all your parts come in don't they Holland?

All done! Not used to the trigger at all hopefully a couple hundred rounds gets it feeling better!

Took her out and ran about 400 through her! First 100 or so was slow starting but she finally broke in a bit! Flat shooting and handles well! I’m loving the Trijicon night sights

That's real sharp looking sir! I'll be sure to post a picture when my slide arrives.

Wasn't too bad. I very gently used an old hammer handle as a punch. Took my time and tapped it into place. My sight tool wouldn't accommodate these tall sights.

Been tossing around trying my hand at one of the P-80 Glock clones. Looks like lots of fun.

Always good to build some guns. Good in a couple ways, fun, have it when done and learn how they go together.
I was super surprised to see how easy it was to build!! And putting it together was a huge learning experience! All I’ve ever done are ARs so I was nervous but honestly it’s just as easy if not easier. I feel confident that I could trouble shoot a problem if I ever ran into one now that I know how it all goes together
I agree with Holland. I've built several AR's from the ground up but had never tackled a semi auto pistol and I've never own a Glock. It was a very intuitive assembly and incredibly simplistic. Once all the components we're together it functioned flawlessly. I think the key is taking your time with the 80% frame. I worked mine down with the end mill proud and worked down with a file, then 200 grit then finished with 1000. Can't even tell it wasn't injected as it is now. Beyond that I sanded and polished the slide rails which provided glass like action. Very educational and fun process.

I myself have done several AR’s and would like to learn the functionality of a pistol so figure no better way then to dig in. I purchased a dremil and some small files. Is there anything else that I will need to help smooth out the process?

I used an small exacto knife on the front notch of the frame to help finish it out. My Dremel didn’t reach and files were a pain and got gummed up quick. I also went as far as working my way up to 2000 grit sandpaper with a little oil and smoothed the areas the slide comes in contact with in the frame. Patience is key. They’re stupid easy to mil out but after you’ve gone at it with the Dremel, sanding and filing can take a little time to get it perfect so you don’t have any issues when firing. Lots of videos on YouTube if you get stuck!
I used a drill press to run the end mill myself. Worked well. Patience is definitely key

Got some more range time with the “Gucci Glock” and to my surprise it even eats up some old hand loads loaded light for my CZ and was accurate! Like 17 rounds one raged hole accurate and I’m not that great with pistol yet lol. 115gr Xtremes under some Unique but I can’t remember how much. Should have gotten a picture too
Nice! So far mine has preformed amazingly also. Pretty cool thing!

If you are from Washington State you will need to write your congressperson as the Senate and House have bills making them illegal to build in the future and you will be a Felon. Oppose please:
Click on the link and the upper right hit comment. You do not have to comment as there is an 'Oppose' button or you can do both. First is Senate link, second is House link. I know this should be in the political section but this has to do with this topic.

Oops I did it again.. couldn’t resist 50% off at midway. And they went FAST!! In an hour or two at least.
Question for y’all.. would dying this damage the polymer frame? Like putting it in a hot pot of water and dye? I’ve done a couple Pmags but I don’t wanna fuck this up
