Yep. Have seen it and done it.
Was it a hand primer, Single stage press, or progressive press?
I haven’t had it happen to me. However I have seen whole primer trays go up on commercial machines...that’s exciting
Reloading...it’s like knitting for men.
hand press thought it was goin in to hard but about the time i thought to stop bang
Luckaly i was wearing my safety glasses and nothing was hurt but my pride and undies
Glad to hear you’re ok. That’s something I hope I never experience.

Definitely a learning experience. Had a primer detonate while I was hand priming. Took me a few hours to get my hearing back to normal.

Never had it happen, hope it never happens, but have heard a ton of stories. Glad you are ok!

I was priming some 223 cases with really tight primer pockets and had one go off. I was wearing my safety glasses, and it took a while for my hearing to come back to normal. Just change your underwear and move on. :D
I have had the experience. It will cure constipation
Yep and about shit my pants. Called lee and they sent me a new thingy ma bopper for free. Tried to explain it was my fault, but they still sent't it no charge.

Happened to me when I first started. .223 cases on a progressive press. A crimped pocket slipped by during sorting. Made me pee a little.....

So which 9mm cases do you have to worry about having crimped pockets?
I run all of my 223 brass through a swagger but it's convient because I am also sizing and trimming it in that same run on a progressive press. I currently have no plans of doing the same for 9mm since I haven't really anticipated finding any...

9mm nato has crimped primers.
So look for the NATO crosses just like on 5.56 it would seem.
Thanks!

This reminds me....I've shot that new Ruger ARX ammo, the one that looks like a twisted full metal jacket, supposed to be a decent self defense round, but do not try to use those casings to reload with. There is a false bottom in the case, a gap between the bottom and the primer, like a false floor. I'm not exactly sure what would happen if you tried using it to reload with, but I'm guessing nothing good.
