I honestly just use the Lyman solution.

Also. Get some of the Lyman steel cleaning solution. I put it in and clean my semiauto pistols. You wouldn't believe how much crap will come out. And yes i have tore them all the way down but this is way faster and easier. Just blow it out really good and oil the hell out of it.

+1 for the Lyman solution. The other thing I would be sure to use is distilled water. I thought it was a load of bull until I tried it. It really did make a difference in the cleaning power.
Also. One thing I do is I'll hit the warm button a few mins before i put anything in. It seems to work a better

I want a bigger one.

I have that identical sonic cleaner and use the lyman solution for brass.
Mostly I've decided it's not worth the hassle: run through several cycles, rinse, cook or air dry.
Tumble with walnut does a good enough job all on its own.
What the sonic is great at is cleaning AR bolt carrier groups.
I use warm water with a bit of non foaming dish washer soap added. Cleans the bcg down to bare metal.
Flush with hot water, oven dry, then lightly oil and good as new.
Looks good.

Damn that works pretty good! I’m going to need to try that Lyman solution.

Wait till you put a semiauto in there that you haven't done a thorough cleaning on in a while. If you put it in and watch it you'll be amazed at the gunk that you can see coming out of every nook and cranny.

I'll sonic clean my brass if its really dirty or range brass. Then tumble it. Usually i just tumble.

I think sonic cleaners get a bad rap. Mine works great and is part of my process. I will always polish in corn cob when done.

Like everything else, it’s another tool. When used properly it works.

Most definitely. I can see the use for a ss pin tumbler and will probably get one at some point but there's some things a sonic cleaner is better for and can do what others can't. Like a rotary tumbler doesn't polish as well as a vibratory with corn cob media. You just have to have the right tool for the job no matter what you're doing.

Exactly. I'm big on don't worry so much about the price. Buy a good quality tool. In the long run it'll save you money and tons of aggrevation. Same with firearms. An old friend of mine was gonna be cheap and bought a Lama 1911. Looked good but it didn't last long. He learned his lesson. Lol

Sonic cleaners are great, don’t believe in them, fine.
Clean your AR’s BCG to the point your inner drill sgt is happy, then put it in the sonic for half the time you scrubbed.

I want one large enough I can put a barreled action in.... but like you said, those start pushing the $2000 range.
