Anyone besides me try Varget under the 50 zmax?
My 24" AR doesn't care for TAC no matter what bullet I've loaded. Hoping my new Savage 10 will like H335.

I haven’t yet but I have some at the bench. I’ll give it a shot tomorrow.

Are you running the 50 gr bullets in 22-250. Thought I'd try them on some prairie dogs.
I had some early experiences with my 1:9” Savage .223 that have lead me away from anything lighter than 55gr bullets in my rifle. Reading this thread though makes me think I need to try again. I am amazed that so many of you, using the faster twisted barrels are having such good results!
Here’s a question though, are the z-max and same weight v-max getting same results for you guys? Can they be swapped indiscriminately between the two with the same groups or are they slightly different bullets that need to be loaded uniquely? I’ve been curious about this for a long time but never really looked into it.

They both print the same groups, in the same place for me. Pretty sure they're the
same bullet with different color tips.
Wes, you weren’t kidding when you said they like to go fast. Notice how the groups tighten up as the charge went up. Attachment 600

H335 I wrote some details on the target.
This was this morning out of my Howa 1500 in 223.

I never get that good grouping. There’s always a flyer to ruin the group.

Best I have seen was .335 at 200 yards, 10 shot group.
Normal with a decent shooter, optic, and gun is .250-.400 at 100 yards
I’m sure a better scope would help. As I get older it’s harder to focus. I’m just shooting a thru a Tasco 3x9. It’s okay but not for driving tacks. Just to dam cheap I guess[emoji1].

jbotto if I put a group like that together I’d just have to put the shooter away and go home. Cause it would never get better.
Now you guys have thinking about a better optic. Any suggestions on a decent glass without breaking the bank?[emoji51]

For the most part I’m just having fun unloading bullets at around 100yd but it’s always nice to get some good grouping.

Thanks Wes I’ll check them out.
BTW love this group and what you’ve put together for us.

I've got a howa in .308 with the axiom stock and a timney trigger and a barska swat 10-40x52 that will put them inside a quarter. The trigger made a big difference, had better groups with the Nikon. Thinking about getting a vortex.

So I'm trying to load the z max with cfe 223. The closest thing to data is a 50 gn gmx. What do you think, 26.0 gn at 2.24 oal it's a different bullet combo. Before I crank them out, should I. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d3cb8c3970.jpg
