On my Xtreme 124 FP, I'm running 1.140", Gold Dots I'm running 1.135", and XTP 1.145". Those are with working up loads and what shot best in my barrel.

Yes! Fills the case very well. Able to shoot compressed loads with it so it keeps the bullets from setback. Burns clean and is accurate.
Thanks. I'll grab some.

You are welcome. It's what I use with the Xtreme since it's a lil lower velocity than the other two powders. Keeps them from going too fast and losing the accuracy node in my gun.
Both of those should be fine, just start on the low end and see how they do and work up looking for the velocity node.
Most factory ammo runs around that area. But factory stuff is loaded down for safety in all guns. I've pushed the Xtreme past that but accuracy fades once the plated get too fast. The XTP and Gold Dots I've pushed up to a little over 1,500 fps. I keep my Xtreme loads for plinking and they do well around the 1,300 fps range, give or take a few.
Had to do a lil batch yesterday since I was out. One of the funnest pistol cartidges to shoot.

Yeah man, that MA decapper is the bees knees. Did you get the swage combo to swage military crimps too? I got my when they first came out with the solid pin, not the replaceable tipped ones. I have punched through berdan primers with no issue lol. They are tough for sure! I'm assuming you ran into some of the tiny hole R-P and Speer brass?
No the .357 SIG doesn't have crimps. I meant the 5.56 brass and what not.
MA has a swage combo with their decapper so you can swage 5.56/7.62 NATO and other military type crimped brass. I got it with mine. Really useful and effective.
ha yeah you are good then. I would get super swage but don't shoot much military brass in my rifles, mostly just Lapua.
Hi Bob looks like they are out of stock. Here is the new link for you. Definitely recommend getting one they work excellent for 357 Sig with lapua size flash holes.

Just use Western Powders suggested charge for their 124/125 grain for AA#9 (11.7 - 13.0 grains and COL of 1.140"). The Xtremes can handle the velocity, I've run them at 1,450fps and they shoot fast, flat, and accurate. However for plinking I've backed off a tad to save on case life. I run em around 1,320fps now. Very accurate.
Edit: be careful on certain brand cases of running near max or max loads.. the AA#9 powder fills the case FULL and the compression from seating the bullets can bulge the shoulders and cause the rounds not to feed or chamber. Different cases have slightly different internal volumes. I've found this out using mixed headstamps.
I can't remember which one's had less volume, but I run around 12.5 grains for plinking and it has kept shoulder bulge away.. All my hollow points.are loaded with same headstamp so I can run hotter.
Have been using Speer brand.
You're welcome bud.
Both work very well. The AA#9 does well too. However, do not go on Speer's data for the AA#9 because it lists max as 14.6 grains. There is no way in hell you can fit 14.6 grains and seat the bullet. 14.6 would nearly overflow the case and compression would be out of this world. The load data for the Power Pistol was hard to find since Alliant only lists that powder with 147 grain projectiles. Here is a link with lots of info on the .357 SIG and lists Power Pistol for the 124/125 grain stuff. These are max loads listed and should start low and work up.

Hodgdon's website lists Longshot for the 124/125 grain stuff as follows:
8.3 - 9.3 grains
OAL of 1.135"
Hope that helps.
Ah I overlooked Blue Dot. I've never used it before. Alliant lists Blue Dot at 11.0 grains as max and OAL of 1.135". I'm sure it will do good too. The data I listed from Hodgdon was right off their site for Longshot powder.
Ramshot Silhouette and Hodgdon HS-6 work well for this caliber also, if you have any of those...
You are welcome.
Are you using the Lee auto drum by chance. If I use it it over flares the case. Now if I don't use it I can set the flare as needed. Seems like the tension from the spring in the auto drum over flares it. Never has issues like this using the auto drum in any other pistol cartridges. Any ideas?
