I don’t think that is necessarily true. I’ve always just shot whatever my gun likes, but am curious to see what others say.

If you're looking for velocity, a faster powder might help. If you don't have a chronograph, note the impact point (given the same sight picture). If the slower powder prints higherQuote:

The where the bullet prints on the paper is not a solid indicator of velocity. I’ve had many occasion where slower loads actually hit higher on the paper than faster loads. It holds true sometimes, but not all the time.
