Need to sort brass before swaging???

I have the Dillion super swage in route and was wondering if it is necessary to sort by head stamp or even brand and year? I read somewhere that you needed to sort it as much as possible due to variations in head thickness. Looking at primarily 223/556 and 308/762 brass primarily for plinking.

Nope. Not necessary really. For just standard plinking ammo, just set it and check it over a few different brands. Some may get a little more, some a little less, but it usually doesn't really make much difference

Now that you have a swage you need a set of gauges to help set it properly. I almost scrapped a few hundred rounds of once fired .223/5.56 by setting the swage too deep. I was trying to turn the crimp ring into a nice visible radius and instead deformed the bottom of the primer pockets. I was able to fix the issue with a primer pocket unifier, but didn't enjoy the extra work I created for myself.

Nope! I have 2 600's. 1 for large and 1 for small. Separate by primer size and get after it.
