Im looking to reload for my wifes 243 handirifle and my 308 bolt gun. Both used for hunting and some target shooting. Im looking to make them as accurate as possible. The 308 id like to load 150s or 168 grain. The 243 id like to load from 95 to 105s. Is there a common powder that can load both and if so, what do you recomend ?
H4895 is known to do well in the 243.. I haven't tried it for 308 tho..

I like slower powders like H4350 or RL26 for the heavies in .243, but the .308 is better suited to something a little faster burning like Varget. If you find something in the middle that works for both, my guess is that it won't be even close to ideal for either cartridge.
I would probably use Varget for both.
Check the powder and bullet sights for loading the 308Win with 110gr bullets,especially in the shorter bbls.There just might be something compatible.
IMO you do not need to get the highest vels for both . . . just the best accuracy. --- SAWMAN
