Reloading for Handirifle

Id like to start reloading for my wifes 243 handirifle. Ive reloaded bolt guns and semi autos but never a crack barrel. Would the bottom of the brass seat flush with the barrel? Im trying to get a full length so i can seat close to the lands and im not sure. Thanks

Yes base of brass would seat flush with end of barrel, or even a little recessed. If you are using a modified case to check length to lands cut off part of the rim/base so you don't have to fight the extractor while measuring.
