When loading Hornady bullets for my 460 S&W magnum I am running into a problem. I am loading to Hornady specs including case length. But the case lines up between the cannelures. Should I go deeper? Shallower? Not worry about it?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9bebde82fb.jpg

Shallower. Going deeper can increase the pressure beyond what is safe.Quote:

On 460, you'll want to load to a cannelure. Otherwise, recoil can knock the projectile loose. I run into the same thing with my 454.Quote:

I can't honestly say I've even seen a bullet with two like the OP pictured.
I load a lot of magnum revolver cartridges, but no practical experience with the .460. This I a “just what I would do” comment, so take it for what it is. I looked on line looking at different brands of .460 ammo, and what I noticed was that they all looked like the bullet was seated to where the second cannelure (closest to the tip) is on your bullet. If it were me, I would load to the cannelure that gives me the shorter OAL, and start my powder charge low and work up.

Like Jeffery sez. But kinda weird. Hornady specs,case OAL,Hornady bullet . . . takes you to in between cannelure's.
