Sig357

I've owned and shot many 1911's through the years. All 45acp. I'm looking at a Sig 1911 and I'm thinking about getting it in 357. Has anyone shot one? Also I know nothing about the Sig 357. How much different is it to the 45acp as far as performance?

Take this for what is worth. I have never owned or shot a 357 Sig. I have read a lot about them. The bullet is a lot smaller. The pressure is way higher. From what I understand the recoil is sharp but managable and brass is hard to come by from time to time.

That's kinda what i was thinking. I know i could get it in 9mm or 40 but I'll probably go ahead and get the tried and true 45.

The 1911 in a 9mm would be fun. If I remember correctly the 357 Sig shoots the same bullets as the 9mm.

I know. As much crap as I've talked about a 9mm I can't have one without some serious retribution from some of my friends. Lol.

I have talked a lot of crap about the 9mm and 380 ACP as well. That being said I own one of each and my wife has a 9mm as well. I have several buddies that make fun of my for owning a Springfield 911 380 ACP. I say screw them and own what you want.

I own,shoot,and reload for three different Glocks chambered in 357Sig. The Glock 31 is full size. The Glock 32 is compact. The Glock 33 is a sub compact.(pocket rocket)
The 33 is my EDC. The 32 is my around the club and backup for hunting hogs . . . day or night. The 31 is my armchair gun.
The 357Sig chambering was designed to duplicate the one shot stop of the "famous" 357Mag shooting a 125gr at 1450fps. IN THE SAME LENGTH BARREL.
The above mag ballistics are taken from a 6" bbl. If I installed a 6" bbl in my 31,I suspect that it would. AND it would not be a 6 shooter,it would be a 16 shooter.
The 357Sig is indeed a 9mm (.355"). The recoil with full power loads is somewhat snappy/quick. Especially with the 115gr and 124gr. I shoot 147gr XTP's in all three of my guns.
Ammo and components are everywhere. Factory ammo is not as cheap as 9mm. After you get your dies setup,it is just as easy to load for as most other pistol chamberings. I crimp all my loads.

Thanks. Its gonna be awhile before I do anything but i figured it'd be better to start research now.
