45 colt pistol and rifle
I have absolutely no need for a 45 colt revolver and lever action rifle. That being said I always wanted one and am getting closer to “pulling the trigger”. Have the Henry Golden Boy and 22 single action pistol but just always wanted their big brothers.
My question, would you load with the same powder and bullet for both. I can understand that the rifle should be able to use a heavier load but would not want to have the issue of putting the wrong cartridge in the wrong gun.
Figured I’m not the first one to go to this rodeo so just wondered what you experts think.

I did. Just use flat top bullets so there is no chance of a primer strike in the tube on your rifle.

My dad has a Taurus rifle and a blackhawk in 45colt. The same load that feels like nothing in the rifle feels very stout in the revolver.
He casts the 454424 and I believe uses 2400.

Actually, the revolver might handle a longer COAL than the rifle. Wes and I found this true with M94s in .44mag.
The rifles wouldn't feed our 350gr flat-nosed handcast bullets.
