Barrel break in.

So I've watched numerous videos regarding barrel break in. Some say to swab the barrel after every round fired up so a certain number of rounds. Others recommend after every third shot. I just replaced my factory S&W M&P barrel with a Bear Creek Arsenal. Qaulity barrels are hand lapped the barrel break in stuff is all garbage.

I’ve also heard this. Never have I ever done these ridiculous rituals for breaking in a barrel. Maybe it does maybe it doesn’t but I guess in the end it’s all up to the user

I shoot it, take it home, put it somewhere and drink beer. Then take it back to the range when it’s convenient, shoot it more, take it home, put it somewhere, drink more beer, plan another range trip, think about cleaning it but don’t, go shoot it, bring it home, drink more beer, then maybe clean it before I shoot it again.

With today's modern primers and propellents you do more damage with the cleaning rod than anything.

It's not used dry. Bore cleaner is put on one portion of the snake and oil is put on the tail end. Works super slick!
